February 27 – 29, 2020
Thursday: Noon – Saturday: 5:00 PM
Come join us for our Mid-winter quilt retreat! We call it a quilt retreat, but you can use it as any kind of sewing retreat! Whether you love to do embroidery, quilting, or just a variety of sewing, you are welcome to join us. We will have ironing stations all set up, large tables for you to sew at, another area to sit down for some good food, or just for visiting and taking a break from your machine! Speaking of food, come and let us do the cooking and clean-up for you! We will be providing Thursday supper, Lunch and Supper on Friday, Lunch on Saturday, and fresh pastries both mornings. Plus coffee, tea, hot chocolate and some snacks along the way! Friday Night we are having an ice cream social, and Saturday lunch will include a chocolate fondue fountain!
For a fun game, we are having a “Name that Quilt Block” challenge!” Each participant can make a pieced block of any pattern they choose! It needs to be a named block from a recognized publication and 12.5″ square for a finished 12″ block. Then when you come to the class, you will turn them into Jay and he will arrange them for display and make up a game card where you can see if you can name all the quilt squares! Either the first one to name them all correctly, or the closest one after all ballots are in, wins all the blocks!! For a color theme and to try and make them all fit, we are doing earth tones for a primary color and include a shade of burgundy for an accenting color. This should be fun!
As an added bonus, either Jay or Keith will also be available to give each of you up to an hour of personal training on your machine should you desire that. Just let us know what you would like taught in advance and we will work out a schedule that fits for everyone.
We are hosting this event at our new store classroom where we have lots of room to spread out, and doesn’t cost us much and we can keep the price lower this way. If you do not live local and would need lodging, we are working with Candlewood Suits just down the road, and if you would like to stay in town overnight, just choose that option and your lodging will be paid by us. The rooms have two queen sized beds in them, so if you want to share a room with your friends, then simply register ONE of you requesting the room, and the others choosing the second option of “Not needing Lodging”. If you DON’T need lodging, choose the “No” option, and you will arrange your own lodging.
