Setting up

When we got to the event, a young man very capably organized us vendors into a line-up for the access door. Once our slot came up, we had about 15 min. to unload our trailer and remove our vehicle so that other vehicles could take a turn and not park us in.

Once we were set up we had a couple hours to recoup before “preview night” happened, where vendors viewed each other’s booths and the quilts were judged.

Believe it or not, but Micki who taught our class this spring was working the Superior Threads show booth from across the aisle on our booth. Of course she came over and said a bunch of nonsense and jokes, and of course we returned the obligation! Why not? And then, she’s nice too; so, we had a fun couple days vending across from each other.

What I think

This is my first time attending or vending at the Quilt Show period, and I was very impressed with the scale and organization of the event. Many many quilts are on display, the booths are well set up, and there are quite a variety of purchasable categories here from irons to machines, from lotion to massage pillows, and from chairs to sewing furniture. Also, the cafeteria was great and the traffic was nice. Loads of people on the first day and a steady to slow pace the other two days. This year was in Duluth, next year will be in St. Could, MN, Lord willing. I was very happy with the event, and Lord willing, we will be at the St. Cloud event as well. Maybe we will even see you then!!

I would have loved to be able to attend this event in Duluth but alas had other commitments. Keep me posted on 2025 event. Thanks!

Sounds good! We may or may not be the Handi-Quilter representative in the next show. Handi-Quilter picks each time; so, they may end up with a different dealer for 2025; we’ll see, Lord willing.
