This machine auto-lifts and auto-drops the presser foot at the start/end of each seam! Also, to applique? This machine is auto-pivot! The needle stays down and presser foot auto-lifts when you stop the machine. Pivot. Push go. And the machine auto-drops the presser foot and sews! See the gif below!

Remove frustration from sewing with fabric that slips the top layer out of line with the bottom layer! The Skyline S7AE has Accu-Feed which is forward or backward driving power using an upper set of feed dogs to pull/push the fabric at the SAME RATE as the feed dogs! See the GIF below to preview what this looks like, but stop in to see an example of why people end up purchasing machines mainly because of this feature!

Touch screen is much easier than dial-to-use displays. Simply touch the displayed stitch that you want and sew!
Also, the display shows your stitch width and length grow and shrink as you adjust your settings; less need to sew example patterns to get that look on your stitch out! For example, watch a zig-zag turn into a satin stitch on the screen below.

Mending pants, sleeves, clothes and small bags are much easier and possible with free arm that’s on the Skyline S7AE. The accessory tray (included) slides out to the left and opens up the machine for free-arm use!

When you buy a Skyline S7AE from A Stitch in Time, we provide training for how to operate the machine, how to adjust tensions, thread machine, thread bobbin, sew with any foot made for your machine, and how each of the accessories are used! When you stop by our store and ask about the machines, you may get a good taste of this during demo as we show you what we know about the machine and how it operates to enable you to sew more and better!

Limit the top speed of the machine to your comfort—even when sewing with the foot control! The Skyline S7AE not only has speed control, but also the neat slow-sewing feature when you are sewing without the foot control. To use when starting, press and hold the start/stop button for as long as you want to sew slowly, then release and the machine will speed up to the speed limit that you set with the slider. To use the temporary slow-sewing when stopping, press and hold the start/stop button when you near the place of stopping and the machine slows to its slowest speed for as long as you hold that button; release the button during this mode and the machine then stops.

350 stitches with 10 fonts are all available to see and select on screen and with a card preview on the underside of the lid!

The automatic needle threader on the Skyline S7AE takes charge of your thread and authoritatively pulls that thread through the eye of the needle! This threader is not just an assistant, it is easy for even people with difficult vision problems to operate!

No screwdrivers are needed to switch needle plates on the Skyline S7AE! Push a lever, and the needle plate pops up. Slip the straight-stitch plate in and pop it back in place. The machine will automatically recognize the needle plate and limit the stitches you can use to help prevent needles breaking! See the following video!

The Skyline S7AE may be set to auto-cut your thread at the end of each seam or anytime you want by pressing the scissor button! To use the auto-cut, use a auto locking or auto backstitching stitch (or any other stitch is you use the lock stitch button in place of the reverse button in the next steps) and when you reach the end of your seam, press the reverse button once and watch the stitch finish out and automatically cut your thread!

The Skyline S7AE adjusts presser foot pressure automatically! It senses the fabric thickness and relaxes or tightens the pressure automatically, even over something as quick as a seam!

The Skyline S6AE lifts the presser foot when you raise the presser foot lifting lever, but if you want to avoid manually lifting the presser foot each time, then consider the Skyline S7AE which has powered auto-lift and auto-drop for the presser foot!

The Skyline S6AE improved the walking foot technology industry and delivered this Accu-Feed system! The Accu-Feed in the Skyline S6AE actually grabs the fabric on the top and powerfully feeds it at the same rate as the feed dogs! Forget about the problems with premium furry or soft fabrics, stretchy material and thick seams; with the Skyline S6AE, make thick seams with ease and sew stretchy material without the stress of nearly so much pinning and stuffing!

The Skyline S6AE’s massive stitche library is sorted into indexes that you can call up with this dial-up type of display! Powerful and economic, this screen saves your budget significant resources over the touch-screen display. However, the dial-up display does NOT preview how your stitch look changes when you adjust the length or width of the stitch. To have a easy, touch-the-screen-where-my-stitch-is-displayed, see-how-my-stitch-looks screen, check out the Skyline S7AE.

Mend clothes and hem pants easily with the Skyline S6AE’s free arm. Slide the accessory tray out the left of it’s position to sew away on you’re latest project!

Accu-Feed is available in the Skyline S6AE and Skyline S7AE.

There’s no preview, however, on this screen for actual stitch appearance that includes length or width adjustements. Also, this display is not as simple or easy to operate. Janome TM50 does not have an automatically raising presser foot. This model uses a lever to lift the presser foot from the back. Also, this machine does not auto-lift and auto-drop the presser foot at the start/end of each seam! The entry machine for auto-foot is the Skyline S7AE.

The Janome TM50 does not have the improved walking foot technology delivered in the Accu-Feed system. TM50 does have a walking foot, but not Accu-Feed. Accu-Feed is an actual fabric grabbing power on top as well as the regular feed dogs on the bottom! Accu-Feed is available in the Skyline series such as the Skyline S6AE or the Skyline S7AE. However, the Janome 3160 QDC does come with a walking foot that runs like any other standard walking foot on the market.

The dial up display saves money over the touch-screen display so that you still have the power of a massive stitch library with a keypad to select which stitch and how wide/long you want it! If you don’t want to dial in numbers for stitches (in other words if you want a touchscreen) then look at the Skyline S7AE.

The Janome TM50 is built as a free arm machine; remove the accessory case from the front to use the free arm.

When you buy the TM50 from A Stitch in Time, we provide training for how to operate the machine, how to adjust tensions, thread the machine, thread the bobbin, sew with any foot made for the machine, and how each of the accessories are used! When you stop by our store and ask about the machines, you may get a good taste of this during demo as we show you what we know about the machine and how it operates to enable you to sew more and better!

The Janome TM50 does assists with the threading, but does not thread quite as authoritatively as the Skylines series machines. See the Skyline S3AE or more for an example.

Janome TM50 needle plate is fastened by two screws. Remove the two flat-head screws holding the needle plate down to clean the machine or switch to a straight stitch needle plate. If you want a needle plate that can be switched without using a screwdriver checkout the Skyline Series S6AE or S7AE!

The Janome TM50 will cut the thread at the end of each seam automatically! Or, anytime you want by pressing the scissor button! To use the auto-cut, use a auto locking or auto backstitching stitch and press and hold the scissor button until the scissor icon lights up on the display and holds steady. Then, when you reach the end of your seam, press the reverse button once and watch the stitch finish out and automatically cut your thread!

The Janome TM50 does not have auto-foot pressure like the Skyline S7AE. But, the Janome TM50 does have a manual pressure dial and the dial can be adjusted easily by hand.
