AM: Thread Play

Have you ever heard or said; “My machine only likes “xyz” brand of thread”?  Or maybe you started with one kind of thread, but have been too terrified of working with other kinds because you have heard the horror stories of other longarmers who have tried and been frustrated.

This class is designed to show you all the fun you can have working with other types and kinds of thread!  We walk with you through the testing process and help you get over the fear of turning the tension knob to find the “sweet spot” for making the thread work with your quilt.  This is the number one issue we hear over and over again at our store, and we want to help you have the confidence we do when working with all kinds of thread!

PM: Scrappy Quilt Pillow (in the frame!)

Many times, we view our longarm as “simply” there to finish quilts.  But did you know that you can do SO much more with these machines?!

In this class Kristina will walk you through making your very own scrappy pillow in the frame.  This is a technique that she has come up with and taught a various academy locations around the country and people love it!

You will actually take home a completed pillow with a pillow form included!  This is going to be just a FUN class with simple instructions, and lots of playing!

Bring along:

• Small bag of those favorite scraps from your stash.
  • You know what I’m talking about!  Those ones that aren’t really big enough to do anything with, but too big or pretty to throw away!
  • And when you’re stuffing your bag, put in a few extra that you might share with others, ’cause they might share with you too!
• An applique scissors (if you have one, otherwise we have a number to pass around.)
  • Put a piece of ribbon or something else to identify them as yours, because we ALL like good scissors and we want to make sure that you get yours back! LOL
