This Basic Computer Skills for Sewers class is aimed at helping you to understand your computer and help you access the wealth of patterns available online for your machine.

We will cover the following:

• Day One Computer Skills – Learn how to navigate Windows, use the mouse correctly and learn the basics of moving around files.  We will take it slow so you can finally make sense of it all.
• Online Patterns – Learn how to find embroidery and quilting patterns online, download them, and transfer them to your sewing machine.  Patterns on disc are on the way out so it’s time to learn how to get your new patterns faster and cheaper!

What to bring:

• Laptop – We will focus on Windows laptops but Mac users are more than welcome.  If you cannot bring your computer you’re still welcome to follow along and take notes.
• Mouse – I recommend using a real mouse instead of the laptop’s trackpad.  It can greatly improve your experience.
• USB Drive – Bring a USB drive to practice moving files.  We have some available for purchase as well.
